The 5th step of the Masters de Petanque 2011 took place at Beaucaire (Gard) on august 24^th, 25^th and 26^th.

Team Robineau-Fournié-Sarrio won on Friday 24th. Then, Madagascar and and Sévilla ensure their qualification and join the French team in big final planned at Istres Today on September 9th.

Spectators and supporters will see wonderful show this week end !

Growit Group wish good luck to all the players.

How to play Petanque ?

Pétanque is a French game of “boules” (French for balls), where each player throws metal balls as close as possible to a smaller wooden ball, known as the “cochonet” or ‘jack’ or target ball. Game strategies include “pointing” when a player throws his ball to have it roll as close to the wooden ball as possible, and “shooting” that’s when a player aims for the ball of an opponent, hoping to move it out of a favorable spot.

The 1st international final

The first international final of the Masters took place this week-end at La Baule (France). During the 4^th step of the Masters de Pétanque 2011, the Madagascar Team beat the Thai Team 13-11.

Classification after the first 4 steps:

1^st France – 30 points

2^nd Madagascar – 18 points

3^rd Lacroix – 18 points

4^th Wild Card – 17 points

5^th Sévilla – 16 points

6^th Fazzino – 13 points

7^th Thaïlande – 11 points

Great success for Brooklyn Bastille Day!

The biggest Bastille Day party in theU.S.took place last Sunday inBrooklyn,New York. It attracted thousands of Francophiles and fans of “pétanque”. The annual Pétanque tournament transformed some streets ofBrooklynin giant “boulodromes” covered with sand.

Of course, the Growit team was there to celebrate! We are very enthusiast about pétanque tournaments!
